A single-tune car horn is so boring. Apart from a general purpose horn sound, a multi-tune car horn would have a choice of different sounds so people could say "Hello!" (charming sound), "Give me the way!" (powerful sound), "Warning, I'm coming!" (mild sound for pedestrians crossing the road withouf looking around), etc.
Let's add the "Silence" mode. A special optical device would read road signs. When it recognizes the "No Horn" sign it deactivates the horn altogether until the next cross-road. So, the device should be able to recognize cross-roads as well.
I suggest a slight modification to the Dragan's idea.
More often than not, you need to push the horn quickly. So, too many buttons would cause confusion. I suggest a 1+2-Tone model. In addition to the main horn as it is, two smaller buttons on the left and on the right would allow to (1) say "Hello" (charming sound) or (2) issue a mild warning (a mild sound).
The driver could press these two additional buttons with his or her thimbs.
