How To Talk To a Foreigner Without Knowing the Language?

Pretty often I need to talk to a foreigner without knowing his or her language.

Could anybody help me and others solve this problem?

If you don't have an electronic translator - the easiest way is to try to draw the pictures explaining what you want to say. Or even to create predefined set of pictures with emotions, motivations, basic subjets and objects at any gadget you are using.
